All children experience the summer slide – the information from the previous school year that is lost during long summer months. The less activity and stimulation from sports, camps, and programming a student has, the steeper this slide becomes. We believe in the power of setting goals, reading together, and turning those math facts into fun games. METAS is a FREE camp which provides an opportunity for elementary age students to engage in activities that will help them achieve those goals after a eating a healthy, free lunch provided by BCSC Food Services.
To accomplish this, we rely on volunteers like you! Children are paired with a volunteer and participate in small groups to minimize density and maximize comprehension. If you are interested in participating in next year’s program, please use the space below to send us an email.
