This project began as a material exploration, driven by our curiosity about the potential to transform objects with past lives into something new and meaningful. We set out to reinvent a material typically regarded as waste, and in doing so, we found ourselves exploring how geometric intersections can shape space, movement, arrival, and experience. In juxtaposition to the form, we found that the organic projection plays with depth through light, shadow, and color. Through this connection of geometry and organic form, the piece interacts with viewers through two contrasting languages.

Aligned with our commitment to material reuse, we selected cardboard and tempera paints as our core materials, prioritizing environmentally conscious choices throughout the design. Our concept evolved into a triptych that encloses viewers at approximately a 45-degree angle from the center panel, creating a sense of arrival. In the early stages of the process, we took inspiration from installation artist Ernesto Neto. Netos work inspired us through the combination of architecture, art, and sculpture, crafting immersive environments.

We are honored to showcase this piece at the Su Casa Gala, “Sea of Opportunities,” and hope its distinct materiality and design challenges viewers’ perception of “trash”. Through this installation, we want viewers to recognize the importance of rethinking and reusing materials, and see how interlocking elements can create something unusual and impactful.
